Amanda Kiso Named to the 2013 Westminster Blue Jay Volleyball Team

2013 Aug 28

Amanda Kiso from Jefferson City, Missouri has been named to the Westminster Blue Jays’ volleyball team in Fulton, Missouri.

Kiso, a freshman at Westminster, is going to be playing as a middle hitter this year.

Before coming to Westminster, Kiso attended Blair Oaks High School.

The Westminster Blue Jays are being led this season by Head Coach Curtis Madson. This is Coach Madson’s first year with the Blue Jays.

The Blue Jays ended the last season with a 16-15 overall record and an 11-5 record in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC). The Blue Jays finished third in the SLIAC, but was knocked out in the first round of the tournament by Webster University.

The Blue Jays begin their season on August 30th in the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Illinois. The home-opener will take place on September 11th at 7:00 p.m. as they host Illinois College. The Blue Jays have four returning student-athletes.

Westminster College values the student-athlete experience and the life-long lessons they learn each day --- some learned inside the classroom, while other skills and lessons are learned on the courts where these student-athletes compete. As President Barney Forsythe says, “Leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, a commitment to excellence and a will to win, all lead to a life of success after graduation.” Every day at Westminster is a day to appreciate, reward and recognize our student-athletes for excelling in the classroom, on the field and within their communities.
