Brian Waters Inducted Into National Honor Society

2012 Feb 24

Brian Waters, a Junior from Liberty, Illinois, was initiated into the Psi Epsilon Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, Jan. 26 on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO.

Waters is majoring in transnational studies and leadership studies.

The local chapter was honored by a visit from Missouri State Representative Jeanie Riddle, who observed the initiation ceremony and shared with the initiates and political science faculty members who attended how she became interested in serving the state of Missouri. She also discussed how she views her job of representing her constituents.

"We want to thank Representative Riddle for taking the time to attend the initiation ceremony and for informing these select students about her interest in electoral politics," says Professor Tobias Gibson, faculty advisor to the Psi Epsilon Chapter.

Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas for the purpose of bringing together students and faculty interested in the study of government and politics. Today over 730 chapters of the society are in existence. They are located on college and university campuses in every state of the United States with one in Canada. National headquarters for the organization is located in Washington, D.C.
