David Newton Honored by Westminster College

David Newton, from Dallas, Texas, was one of a select group of students recognized for academic achievement, service and organization leadership at the annual Honors & Awards Program held at Westminster College in Fulton, MO.

He received the Margaret McDonald Jaeger Award, given to a junior psychology major to recognize outstanding achievement and promise of success in psychology.

"I am wholeheartedly grateful to have been chosen for this award, and view this as a stepping stone to promote my motivation to succeed not only in academic studies, but in future careers as well," says Newton.

Newton is a Junior, majoring in Psychology at Westminster.

Over 20 different scholarships, fellowships, and awards were given at the ceremony held in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury on campus.

Westminster President Dr. George B. Forsythe delivered welcoming and closing remarks and Dr. Stephanie Krauth, Vice President of the College and Dean of Student Life, spoke about the importance of recognizing student achievements.

The Honors & Awards Program is sponsored by the Emerson Center for Leadership & Service and the Westminster Office of Student Life.
