Jessica Klutts Earns SLIAC Spring Academic All-Conference Honors

2015 Jun 5

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the spring 2015 SLIAC Academic All-Conference Team on June 5. Westminster College led the SLIAC schools with 32 spring student-athletes named from the men's and women's tennis teams, men's and women's track and field teams, the golf team, the baseball team and the softball team. They had eight repeat Academic All-Conference team members and one three-time member.

Jessica Klutts, a senior tennis player from Fulton, Missouri, is a recipient of this award. Klutts is majoring in biology and philosophy.

In order to be named to the Academic Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior in academic standing, attend Westminster for one year, maintain a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA and be a member of the respective varsity team.

Westminster College values the student-athlete experience and the life-long lessons they learn each day --- some learned inside the classroom, while other skills and lessons are learned on the courts where these student-athletes compete. As President Barney Forsythe says, "Leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, a commitment to excellence and a will to win, all lead to a life of success after graduation." Every day at Westminster is a day to appreciate, reward and recognize our student-athletes for excelling in the classroom, on the court and within their communities.
