Joseph Plassmeyer Attending Westminster College

2012 Oct 24

Joseph Plassmeyer from St Louis, MO, is attending Westminster College in Fulton, MO.

Plassmeyer attended Lindenwood College.

New Westminster students enjoyed a week of campus orientation sessions, leadership training, social activities and ceremonies.

Plassmeyer's educational journey at Westminster began with one of Westminster's most time honored and revered traditions, the Columns Ceremony. At this ceremony, new students walk through The Columns, six white columns that are all that remain of the College's original administration building, which was destroyed by fire, to enter the world of campus life.

The only other time students walk through The Columns during their four years at Westminster is at Commencement when they walk back into the world.

Plassmeyer also is enrolled in Westminster Seminar classes, the College's nationally acclaimed academic preparation program that gives new students the skills they need to succeed in college, and attended regular sessions of "The Leader Within," an orientation course focused on adjustment to college and a new adult life.

New student week concluded with the official welcome by Westminster President Dr. George B. Forsythe, Vice President and Dean of Enrollment Services George Wolf and Vice President and Dean of Student Life Stephanie Krauth at Convocation.

The featured Convocation speaker was Eric Koestner, a 1998 Westminster graduate who is a partner with the Edward Jones Company in St. Louis. Koestner spoke to the students about getting involved in college life and taking advantage of the many opportunities available at Westminster.
