Kim Petiford Completed the 2013 Westminster Track & Field Season

2013 May 8

The Westminster College Women's Track & Field team won the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Invitational for the first time since joining attending the Invitational. The Westminster Blue Jays, led by Head Coach Jim Marshall, had four first place finishes at the Invitational. Multiple Westminster modern day records were broken throughout the season.

Kim Petiford, a senior from Springfield, Missouri, was a part of the Westminster Track & Field team. Before coming to Westminster, Petiford attended Glendale High School.

Three members of the women's track & field team are graduating this year.

Westminster College values the student-athlete experience and the life-long lessons they learn each day --- some learned inside the classroom, while other skills and lessons are learned on the courts where these student-athletes compete. As President Barney Forsythe says, "Leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, a commitment to excellence and a will to win, all lead to a life of success after graduation." Every day at Westminster is a day to appreciate, reward and recognize our student-athletes for excelling in the classroom, on the field and within their communities.
