Laci Luff Is Heading To The NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament

Laci Luff, a Senior from Pea Ridge, Arkansas and a member of the Westminster College Lady Blue Jays, is heading to Indianola, Iowa, to play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Women's Basketball Division III Tournament. The Blue Jays will play the #12 ranked Simpson College Storm at 7:00 p.m (EST). on Friday, March 1, 2013.

The Blue Jays took first place in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) and went on to win the SLIAC Tournament, earning them an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.

This is the second consecutive year for the Lady Blue Jays to win the SLIAC Tournament and attend the NCAA Tournament and the third consecutive year of being SLIAC Champions.

The Blue Jays finished the 2012-13 regular season with a 15-10 overall record and a 14-2 SLIAC record. The Blue Jays are coached by Tracey Braden. Coach Braden is in her sixth year as head coach for Westminster. She was named SLIAC Coach of the Year for the 2012-13 season, as well as two previous seasons.

Four Blue Jays received SLIAC Honors. Junior Leigh Ann Lutz and seniors Hannah Kloster and Kenna Cornelson were placed on the SLIAC All-Conference Teams. Cornelson was also placed on the SLIAC All-Defensive Team and Laci Luff was placed on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. Cornelson was placed on the SLIAC All-Tournament Team and Lutz was named SLIAC All-Tournament MVP.
