Samantha Stuppy Receives Prestigious Recognition from Westminster College

Samantha Stuppy from Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, who has majored in Psychology , was one of the select students to receive a prestigious recognition at the annual Honors and Awards Program held at Westminster College in Fulton, MO.

Stuppy received the Tammy Stiller Award for Excellence given to a student with exceptional ac academic, athletic, and/or workplace abilities who exemplifies the mission of the Remley Women's Center and Westminster College.

Westminster President Dr. George B. Forsythe gave welcoming and closing remarks at the ceremony and Dr. Stephanie Krauth, Vice President of the College and Dean of Student Life, gave remarks praising all the students who were recognized for their achievements.

Members of the national scholastic honor society Alpha Chi, the international honorary education fraternity Kappa Delta Pi, the international English honorary society Sigma Tau Delta, the national psychology honorary Psi Chi, Student Foundation, Dean's List, and Who's Who Among American College Students were all recognized.

Kappa Kappa Gamma received the Drosten Cup, given to the organization which has the best overall program of community service.

The English Plaque Award, given to the Westminster living group with the highest overall grades for the two previous semesters, was awarded to Kappa Alpha Theta.

Amnesty International was picked as the most outstanding philanthropic campus program of the year.

Those receiving Project for Peace grant awards, Student Ambassador Awards, and Student Government Association awards were also honored.

The ceremony was held in the magnificent Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, a 17th century Christopher Wren church left in ruin from German bombings during World War II. This beautiful house of worship was brought stone by stone from England to Westminster and restored on campus in 1969 in memory of Sir Winston Churchill.
