Todd Reutlinger Represents Westminster College Fraternity Honored as One of Top Ten International Chapters

Todd Reutlinger from Muskogee, OK, was one of eight representatives from the Delta Omicron Chapter of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity at Westminster College in Fulton, MO to represent the chapter, which was honored as one of the top ten chapters in the international fraternity.

Delta Omicron received the Hugh Shields Award for Chapter Excellence, which is the highest award a chapter can receive and only given to the top ten chapters in the international fraternity.

"We understand that a Hugh Shields Award is not won in a single year," says Chapter President Ryan Harrison. "Rather, it is the continuity of greatness, begun by our brothers long before us, which makes Delta Omicron worthy of these awards."

The group attended the fraternity's Division Conference Jan. 31-Feb. 2 in Oklahoma City, OK where the chapter received a multitude of other honors and recognitions.

Reutlinger is a Senior at Westminster.

A second major honor for the Westminster chapter was the Court of Honor, which is only given to the top twenty chapters in the international fraternity.

Special recognition also went to Delta Omicron for Excellence in Chapter Operations, Outstanding New Member Education Programming, Excellence in All Fraternities Average, First on Campus Academically and for Service as a result of the Chapter's philanthropy work on behalf of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

"Delta Omicron has proven yet again that we are in fact the first among equals," says President Harrison. "Our chapter continues to be an example of excellence for others to follow. My fellow brothers have worked hard for these awards, and we could not be prouder; however, we know full well that we did not get here alone."

Travis Rockey, International President of Delta Tau Delta, recently offered congratulations to Delta Omicron for record breaking academic achievement.

"One chapter we recognized at the Western Plains Division Conference deserves special recognition again," says President Rockey. "Delta Omicron reported 21 men out of 65 in its chapter earned a 4.0 in the fall 2011 semester. In the spring 2012 semester, 23 men had a 4.0. This not only proves truly outstanding scholarship is possible; it also has to be a record for any chapter in any fraternity."

Next year Delta Omicron will celebrate the 75th anniversary of its founding on the campus of Westminster College.

"We as a brotherhood have upheld the tradition of greatness in our chapter," says Chapter President Harrison. "This upcoming year we will continue to build upon our successes as a brotherhood. And as always, we will push to better ourselves in the endless pursuit of excellence."
