Walter Juarez Completed the 2013 Westminster Track & Field Season

2013 May 8

The Westminster College Men's Track & Field team placed second at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Invitational. The Westminster Blue Jays, led by Head Coach Jim Marshall, had three first place finishes at the Invitational and had one SLIAC record broken. Multiple Westminster modern day records were broken throughout the season.

Walter Juarez, a freshman from California, Missouri, was a part of the Westminster Track & Field team. Before coming to Westminster, Juarez attended California High School.

Two members of the men's track & field team are graduating this year.

Westminster College values the student-athlete experience and the life-long lessons they learn each day --- some learned inside the classroom, while other skills and lessons are learned on the courts where these student-athletes compete. As President Barney Forsythe says, "Leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-discipline, a commitment to excellence and a will to win, all lead to a life of success after graduation." Every day at Westminster is a day to appreciate, reward and recognize our student-athletes for excelling in the classroom, on the field and within their communities.
